SONGA

As our exclusive supplier, SONGA started in 1932 within the Galapagos Island. Initially, its goal was to catch and export tuna and lobster. In 1982, the facilities were moved to its current location on the banks of the Guayas River, on the outskirts of Guayaquil, Ecuador. From this location, they grow, process and export farm raised, premium white shrimp. Today, SONGA controls 8,000 hectares which provides 75% of the raw material processed through our plant. The balance, 25%, is purchased from select associated farmers.

SONGA's farms encompass an area of over 140,000 square meters, as well as, a 36,300 square meter processing facility. This gives SONGA the capacity to produce 242,440 pounds per day. This has allowed SONGA to become one of the main shrimp exporters to China, Korea, Europe and the United States.

SONGA's main focus is ensuring that our products are traceable and sustainable. They are dedicated to processing and marketing shrimp, which have been cultivated using the most environmentally compatible methods. This process is managed by a group of professionals using the latest techniques and highest level of quality control standards. This secures the sustainability and traceability of our products, with respect to the environment, while meeting the needs and expectations of our customers.
